Telehealth Video Appointments

What is Telehealth or Virtual Appointments?

Your neurocognitive assessment can be done without leaving your home. If you have a tablet, laptop, or computer at home with video capabilities, you can communicate with your provider much like you do when you come into the office.

What do I need in order to have a Telehealth or Virtual doctor's appointment?

For a Telehealth or virtual appointment you will need:
-An email address
-Internet connection at the location where you will have your virtual appointment.
-A computer or laptop or tablet (such as Ipad) with a camera. The camera does not need to be an attachment to your device. It can be the camera that came in with your device. Most of these devices come standard with a built in camera. The testing portion cannot be conducted with your phone, such as with Facetime. The screen of your device should be at least the size of half a standard piece of paper to properly view the materials you will be shown on your screen.
-You will need a quiet, private space, free from distractions where you can do your tests.
-If you have hearing difficulties, you should have handy a pair of headphones, such as the set comes with your phone. It should easily plug into your computer or tablet to amplify the sound at a comfortable level.

How does a Telehealth or Virtual doctor's appointment work?

1. Dr. Strada will schedule you for a virtual appointment and send you an email confirming your appointment.
2. You will then receive a second email to invite you to join the portal called Simple Practice, the HIPPA compliant server Dr. Strada uses for virtual visits.
3. Please click on the green button at the bottom of the second email and log in to the portal. If you are on your computer there is nothing for you to download. You simply click on the link to go to the patient portal to electronically read and sign the forms you normally fill out for your in-person visit. If you are using a tablet or the smart phone to complete your paperwork, then the system will direct you to download the Simple Practice app (green butterfly). This is a free app. If you are asked to pay then you are not on the correct app.

4. You MUST complete your paperwork online soon after receiving the email link, within a few days, to avoid having the link expire, and avoid cancellation of the appointment due to not having your paperwork completed for the appointment.

5. Dr. Strada will send you an email with the link to your actual appointment the day before or the day of the appointment. You simply click the Join Video Call link, and it will automatically connect you to Dr. Strada for your appointment.
6. You will then have your appointment talking and seeing Dr. Strada on the screen much like you normally do in an in-person visit.

What Insurance plans allow Telehealth or Virtual doctor's appointments?

Where do I go for my Telehealth or Virtual doctor's appointments?

Click on the link that came on your email for the appointment. You can also click on the Client Portal link below to go to the portal. Enter your email address. This must be the same email address you provided at the time of making your appointment. Simple Practice will send an email to the address you provide with a link to log in. In the portal you can complete the paperwork needed for your first visit. You can also view upcoming appointments and access the video call. Because this is a secure, HIPPA compliant server, you must click the link sent to you from your email. This process prevents that anyone else will have access to your online visit. The email cannot be shared. Please feel free to call me if you have any difficulty accessing or logging in to your portal.
